WHAT IS A SOUND BATH?
Our sound bath is an experience where you are immersed in the deep sound vibrations of our quartz crystal singing bowls, drums, flutes and other instruments.
When played, these instruments produce a matrix of healing energies that are used to induce relaxation, expansion, clearing, and rejuvenation on every level of your being.
A sound bath is also an inward meditative musical journey that helps you to let go and receive a re-alignment to your energetic body using powerful sound vibration.
The vibrations produce a deep state of relaxation as they balance the brain hemispheres, release stress and muscle tension, stimulate the flow of our vital energy and accelerate our healing and recovery.

Takka Superior is opening its doors for a true winter ritual on Lake Superior.
Begin your day moving through the snow—snowshoeing (rentals available from Wise Old Man of Isle Royale) or skiing nearby—then let the cold melt away inside a private sauna session designed for 2–6 friends.
Each snowy 75-minute session at Takka Superior includes robes, towels, water, and electrolytes, everything you need to settle in and stay awhile.

This Sunday, we’re inviting that conversation with a Saunamekko pop-up at Takka, hosted by their founder, Karen.

What do you wear in a community sauna? If you've ever wondered, you're not alone! Clothing designer Karen Ruohoniemi asked herself the same question when she built her own backyard sauna, leading her to create Saunamekko—the perfect wardrobe for before, during, and after your sauna session.
Join us at Takka Saunas’ Portage location, 101 Navy St in Hancock, on November 2nd from 12 - 4pm to explore these breathable, odor-free, and stylish garments firsthand. Karen and her partner, Gary, will be showcasing the full Saunamekko collection, letting you see, touch, and experience this thoughtfully designed sauna wear. Drop by anytime during the event to browse and shop the Saunamekko line, no sauna required. It’s a great chance to explore the collection and learn about the benefits of wool sauna wear.
For those interested in a deeper wellness experience, come sauna with us during our social sauna sessions from 12-2pm or 2pm - 4pm at a special event rate of $20 for 120 minutes when you use welcome10 to take $10 off. Natasha Rae from Studio Alchemy will guide us through breath work and sauna stretches, helping you feel centered and relaxed.
